Humility

Deuteronomy 8:2,3 And thou shalt remember all the way which the
Lord thy God led thee forty years in the wilderness, to humble
thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether
thor wouldest keep His commandments, or no.

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee
with manna, which thor knewest not, neither did thy fathers know
that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread
only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the
Lord doth man live.

I Kings 21:27,28,29 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those
words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his
flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
Seest thor how Ahab, humbleth himself before me? because he
humbleth himself before Me, I will not bring the evil in his
days; but in his sons's days will bring the evil upon his house.

II Chronicles 7:13,14 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain,
or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send
pestilence among my people;

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sin, and will heal their land.

II Chronicles 12:5,6,7 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to
Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered
together to Jerusalem because the of Shishak, and said
unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and
therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled
themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous.

And when the Lord saw they humbled themselves, the word of
the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled
themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will
grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be
poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

II Chronicles 12:8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants;
that they many know my service, and the service of the
kingdoms of the countries.

II Chronicles 32:24,25,26 In those days Hezekiah was sick
to the death; and prayed unto the Lord: and He spake unto
him, and he gave him a sign.

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit
done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore
there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and
he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and
for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields,
and for all manner of pleasant jewels;

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of
his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jeruslem, so that
the wrath of the Lord came not upon them in the days of
Hezekiah.

II Chronicles 33:10,11,12,13 And the Lord spake to Manasseh,
and to his people: but they would not hearken.

Wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the
host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the
thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to
Babylon.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his
God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his
fathers,

And prayed unto him: and he was entreated of him, and
heard his supplication, and brought him again to
Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that
the Lord he was God.

II Chronicles 34:27 Because thine heart was tender,
and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou
heardest His words against this place, and against
the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before
me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me;
I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord.

Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt
be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes
see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and
upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king
word again.

Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with
the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Matthew 23:11,12 But he that is greatest among you shall
be your Servant.

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he
that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

James 4:5,6,7 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain,
The spirit lusteth to envy?

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth
the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and
he will flee from you.

James 4:8,9,10 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts,
ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be
turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall
lift you up.

I Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty
hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
