What Does God Require?

Exodus 23:7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent
and the righteous slay not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Deuteronomy 10:12,13 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God
require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his
ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy
heart and with all thy soul,

To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I
command thee this day for thy good?

I Chronicles 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went
forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth,
Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants
of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be
established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Job 35:1 For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he
should delight himself with God.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
and with all thy getting get understanding.

Proverbs 15:24 The way is above to the wise, that he may depart
from hell beneath.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the
Oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Ecclesiates 12:13,14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing,
whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Ezekiel 33:8,9 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt
surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way,
that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require
at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he
do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou has
delivered thy soul.

Ezekiel 33:10,11,12 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house
of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be
upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the
death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:
turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of
Israel?

Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The
righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his
transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall
thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall
the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he
sinneth.

Hosea 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and
wait on thy God continually.

Amos 5:14,15 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the
Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant
of Joseph.

Amos 5:24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a
mighty stream.

Zechariah 7:9,10 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true
judgment and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother;

And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the
poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your
heart.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth
the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to
walk humbly with thy God?

Matthew 22:36,37,38 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39,40 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark 12:28,29,30 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them
reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well,
asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O
Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all
thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is
the first commandment.

Mark 12:31,32,33 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for
there is one God; and there is none other but he;

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and
with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his
neighbour as himself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and
sacrifices.

And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou
art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask
him any question.

Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from
pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled,
and from blood.

Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood,
and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep
yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Galatians 5:13,14 For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only
use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one
another.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is
this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to
keep himself unspotted from the world.
